The commonly used materials of safety shoes mainly include the following:
First, the upper material
Step 1: Leather
- Dermis: Dermis is the raw skin of animals, which is tanned by tanneries. Common leather materials include cowhide, sheepskin and pig skin. Leather has good air permeability, softness and moisture absorption, and is a relatively high-grade upper material in safety shoes. Among them, cowhide is widely used in the production of safety shoes because of its strong texture and wear-resistant.
- Rawhide: rawhide is the waste skin and leather scraps of various animals are crushed and processed with chemical raw materials. It has the characteristics of a wide variety of colors, good waterproof performance, neat side width, high utilization rate and cheaper price than real leather, but the feel and elasticity may not achieve the effect of real leather.
- Artificial leather: Artificial leather is made on the textile fabric base or non-woven fabric base, by a variety of different formulations of PVC and PU and other foam or film processing. It can be processed according to different strength, wear resistance, cold resistance and color, gloss, pattern and other requirements, the price is relatively cheap, but the durability may be slightly less than that of real leather.
Step 2: Fabric
- Fabric safety shoes have the advantages of lightweight, breathable, soft, etc., suitable for long-term wear. Common fabric materials include nylon, canvas, polyester and so on. These materials are not only lightweight and comfortable, but also have certain wear resistance and tear resistance.
Second, sole material
Step 1: Rubber
Rubber soles are divided into natural rubber and synthetic recycled rubber, with good wear resistance, anti-slip, good elasticity, not easy to break and other advantages. It is one of the commonly used sole materials in safety shoes.
2. TPR(Thermoplastic rubber)
-TPR is a new type of polymer shoe material mainly produced by thermoplastic SBS, which has the characteristics of wear-resistant, easy to shape and cheap. The soles of labor protection shoes made of TPR material are light, comfortable, highly elastic and breathable.
3. Polyurethane (PU)
- Polyurethane sole is made of A/B/C polyester foam, divided into oily and water-based two. It not only has excellent wear resistance and repeated bending properties, but also has good tear strength and elasticity. It is also very good in oil resistance, acid resistance, alkali resistance and low temperature resistance, and it is comfortable and lightweight.
4. TPU(Thermoplastic polyurethane)
-TPU is a linear polymer material formed by the reaction of diisocyanate, macromolecular polyol and chain extender. The soles of labor protection shoes made of TPU have excellent mechanical strength, wear resistance, oil resistance and flex resistance.
5. TR(Thermoplastic rubber Improvement material)
-TR is a new product improved on the basis of TPR, and is a synthetic material of TPE and rubber. It has excellent performance of various indicators, such as appearance pattern, feel good, bright color, high finish characteristics, and belongs to the environmental protection sole material.
6. EVA(ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer)
EVA is a kind of polymer material, with the characteristics of light weight, good elasticity, good flexibility, and not easy to wrinkle. EVA soles can be processed in a variety of climates and have good coloring.
In summary, the commonly used materials of safety shoes include leather (leather, recycled leather, artificial leather), cloth (nylon, canvas, polyester) and a variety of sole materials (rubber, TPR, polyurethane, TPU, TR, EVA, etc.). When choosing safety shoes, a reasonable choice should be made according to the specific working environment, needs and economic strength.
